Self-Knowledge, A key to Happiness
Contemporary Culture on the Nature of the Human Person

Alice Ramos, Ph.D.

Women and Authentic Human Development

I am pleased to announce that Murray Hill Institute's first call for papers on the topic "Women and Authentic Human Development" has generated two articles. This is a start to what we hope will be a fruitful way of disseminating valuable insights and information to professional women.

The first article, Self-Knowledge, A Key to Happiness, by Marie I. George, deals with a study of feminine natural vices and of the virtues to be cultivated in order to counteract these vices. Since virtue is the way to happiness, it is important for us to know which natural vices we are especially prone to as women.

The second article, Contemporary Culture on the Nature of the Human Person: The Relevance of Edith Stein, shows how contemporary Western culture has redefined the idea of the nature of the human person and how this has affected both men and women. The essence of humanity and more specifically of women is considered by turning to the German philosopher Edith Stein, who provides us with a unique stance on the vocation, the qualities, and the concerns of the feminine nature.

We at Murray Hill Instutite always enjoy hearing from our readers and encourage response to these articles or suggestions for future topics.

Sincerely,
Alice Ramos
