2001 Conference Integrity and Ethics in the Workplace
The unprecedented growth of science and technology in the last decades of the twentieth century is a sign of the human person's intelligence and creativity. One challenge of the twenty-first century is to ensure a proportionate advancement in social and moral values. Women have a unique role in promoting a more ethical and harmonious workplace. In this conference, prominent professional women in medicine, business, law, and education addressed the challenge of maintaining a just and ethical workplace in today's highly competitive environment.
Keynote Address Author, speaker and consultant, Dr. Bohlin is an expert in character education. Co-author of the highly acclaimed Building Character in Our Schools, Dr. Bohlin has also publlished in the Journal of the Association of Teacher Educaiton, and other journals. She has been a guest on National Public Radio's Merrow Report and NBC's The Early Show and cited in Parents Magazine, Us News and World Report, and Newsweek.
Ethics in Business:
A Woman's Perspective Ms. Driscoll has held several leadership positions at John Hancock Insurance Company since she first joined the firm in 1992. She currently serves as Vice President of Brokerage, and prior to that she served as the company's vice president of corporate communications. Before joining John Hancock, Ms. Driscoll served as senior vice president/group direcotr at Hill Holliday, a major advertising company based in Boston. Mother of six children, Ms. Driscoll holds a master's degree in education and enjoys lecturing on a variety of issues. Ethical Principles
Guiding Medical Decisions Dr. Rockett is a practicing physician and serves on the medical staff of Newton-Wellesley Hospital, St. Elizabeth's Hospital and New England Baptist Hospital. A past President of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Dr. Rockett has a long distinguished history of service to the profession of medicine and has lectured extensively on medical ethics. and Natural Law in the Judicial Professions With offices in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia, Ms. Meade heads a civil trial litigation law firm. She lectures on legal and ethical issues, including law and the family, women and law, justice and society, marriage recovery, constitutional law and buiness ethics. She is the executive direector of the Natural Law study Center in Virginia and serves as the editor of the bi-monthly journal Veritas |
