Murray Hill Institute Newsletter Dear Friends, When I am asked what Murray Hill Institute is, my short answer is that MHI is about women transforming culture. The next question is, “How do you do that? How can one person change the environment in her workplace?” Of course, there is no magic answer; each one has to discover the way that works for her. But hearing how others have “done it” can spark an idea and motivate us to give it a try ourselves. With this in mind we have introduced a Newsletter feature entitled, Women Transforming Culture: How They Do It. We hope that these personal accounts will give life to our tag line Women Transforming Culture and provide practical tips and examples that will inspire you to introduce some positive changes in your own place of work. Example is the best teacher, and we can benefit from the positive example of others. If you would like to share a positive experience of your own, we would be happy to consider it for inclusion in our Newsletter. Just email us about your idea at info@murrayhillinstitute.org These are certainly exciting times we live in. The national and global challenges that confront us—economic and otherwise, call for prudential judgment, decisiveness, and to some extent taking risks. The future is always unchartered territory, and fear of the unknown can sometimes hold us back from even trying. And yet, if we are going to achieve our goal of making the world a better place, we need to be willing to take risks, be they large or small. The positive changes that result from our efforts far outweigh the occasional “failures” that may occur. The greatest failure is the failure to try to make a difference. The theme of this issue of our Newsletter is taking risks—large and small, and the positive results that risks can bring. We have a full program of activities ahead of us this year, and we hope you will be able to join us for some or all of them. Thank you for your continued interest and support. Sincerely,
